Palm Oil

Palm oil is an edible vegetable oil derived from the fruit of the oil palm tree (Elaeis guineensis). It's one of the most widely produced vegetable oils in the world, valued for its efficiency and versatility. The oil is naturally reddish-orange due to its high beta-carotene content, and it's semi-solid at room temperature.

Palm oil is harvested from the fleshy outer part of the palm fruit. A separate oil, palm kernel oil, is extracted from the seed (kernel) of the same fruit. These two oils have different compositions and uses. The palm fruit is typically sterilized, digested, and pressed to extract the crude palm oil, which is then refined for various applications.
